Our big italian wedding was the best day of my life. It was a very hot July day and with over 400 guests, I was definitely nervous. When I put on my Jim Hjelm dress I felt so beautiful and comfortable that my nerves faded away. The dress was me. I knew it from the moment I first put it on. Everything about it from the low cut back, sweetheart neckline, flower belt with swarovski crystals, bow at the back and the silk organza swirls- a modern twist to lace which I love. A magical dress for a magical day.

The look chosen for the wedding was classic and timeless. On a beautiful November day, the ceremony was held at Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus. The reception took place at the Grand Concourse restaurant located in the beautifully restored Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Station – a Pittsburgh historic landmark. We chose to do a ‘first look’ before the ceremony and it was very special and emotional. Special key items of the day were that Will wore his grandfather’s pocket watch, and Amy handmade a brooch bouquet made from her grandmother’s and mother’s jewelry.
Our wedding was held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, VA. The reception followed at The Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA. Our florist Palette of Petals was incredible at creating the warm, elegant, and ritzy look. Our colors consisted of ivory, taupe, gold, and silver. Lighting was provided by Astro DJ’s which helped set the ambience. Our guests danced the night away to the band Tidewater Drive. We ended the reception with a sparkler exit. Our photographer, Will King, did an amazing job capturing our magical day.
Ibiza, AL, Spain
Nathan and I were married on the beautiful island of Ibiza, Spain. Nathan is from New Zealand, I am British and our wedding was a beautiful, romantic combination of British, Maori and Spanish traditions. Friends and family travelled from all over the world to share our special day and enjoy the sun, sea and sangria. I loved my dress! The colour, fit and beautiful lace made me feel like a million dollars.

Mark & Angela met at work during an undercover operation (they are both Deputy Sheriff’s). They shared a love of law enforcement, Disneyland, & wine tasting. Four years later, Mark proposed with a “little blue Tiffanys box” in Disneyland at the castle at Christmastime. Angela immediately went to meet Lazaro in S.F to choose her dream gown! Angela & Mark were later married at their favorite Napa Valley Winery: V. Sattui. Mark is a US Marine Corp Officer, so their ceremony was a traditional USMC Ceremony in the courtyard of the winery. The reception was held in the barrel cellar.

Tim and I were married at the Memphis Botanic Garden, which holds a special place in our hearts. It was where I first met his parents and also where as a child my father who’s no longer with us took me.
I knew this Lazaro was the ONE, not only because I’ve always dreamt of being a Lazaro bride, but when after a long morning of trying on multiple dresses, I came out and my Mom first words to me were,”It’s Perfect!” We all know Mom knows best.

Ron & I met in August 2008 at church. Little did I know that Ron’s Uncle David invited him to church to play match maker. All I remember is being embarrassed when Uncle David told Ron, “Get the digits.” Ron & I love traveling together. He proposed to me on the beach in Okinawa, Japan. We married on June 9,2012 at Villa Antonia in Austin, TX. It was a dream come true!

Micah and Whitney met junior year in college 2007 studying abroad in the same program in Sydney Australia. Whitney moved to Rochester, NY and February 3, 2012 they were engaged. Micah proposed to Whitney at The Little Theatre in Rochester, NY. We planned a romantic, beachy-country wedding at Warwick Country Club in Rhode Island for September.

We met while working aboard a cruise ship and it was pretty impossible to hide our chemistry. We traveled from the Caribbean through the Mediterranean across to the ancient orient. Charl from Zimbabwe, in Southern Africa and I from Texas, an ocean brought us together but also separated us for months at a time. We knew after two years together and sometimes apart we had met “the one.” We knew nothing mattered unless we were together. Our wedding day was a dream come true and with our closest friends and family we shared the most special day of our lives.

I’ve always wanted a New York City wedding, since I grew up in the area. And with Michael and his whole family being from the South, it worked out well to have a “destination wedding” right at home! Michael and I were married right on the edge of the Hudson River, with the New York City skyline as our backdrop. It was a hot day, but the guests were in love with the view! They were also in LOVE with my Lazaro gown, which couldn’t have been more perfect for the occasion!!

As my brother in-law & best man stated so clearly in his wedding speech: “Chuck and Jill’s courtship is very much a twenty-first century love story. Girl posts bio on internet, boy clicks on bio. Intrigued, boy asks girl to meet. Boy meets girl over sushi dinner, and love ensues. Boy returns to apartment he shares with brother, and talks about girl non-stop for a week. Brother meets girl a week later…and sees why boy is so excited.” We are a TRUE Match.com success story! Best friends we are-sharing this journey together.

After six and a half years of dating, Matt and I were married at the renowned Cescaphe Ballroom in the historical city of Philadelphia. He got his first glimpse of me in this stunning dress on a rooftop overlooking the Benjamin Franklin bridge. It was the beginning of our magical wedding day. After I saw this Lazaro gown a runway video, I knew that it had to be mine–just like Matt. Lucky me, I got both!

Joe and I met in college and after 7 years of dating, Joe proposed when we got home from our first vacation together in Punta Cana. Working at Bella Bianca Bridal you can bet I couldn’t wait to start trying on dresses. I was so lucky to have that magical dress moment with my mom, sister, co-workers, and Lazaro himself! I will never forget it. Our joyous and fun wedding was on beautiful summer day and was the best day of our lives. Marrying the love of my life in my gorgeous dress was a dream come true!

We always knew that we wanted to be married in Las Vegas as it was one of our favorite places to be. Although not far, it was considered a “destination” wedding. It was small but perfect at the Four Seasons Hotel. The guests were all in awe of the beautiful dress and loved every bit of the wedding from the ceremony to the reception! I wouldn’t change a single thing from that day, it was perfect.

Lindos, Rhodes, Greece
After a long road our dream became a reality on August 31, 2012 and we celebrated our love on the island of Rhodes in Greece. Married at St. Paul’s Church in St. Paul’s Bay in the village of Lindos, my custom altered Lazaro gown couldn’t have been more perfect. I’d wear that dress every day if I could…my husband cried when he saw it. The amazing team at Mariella Creations assisted in adjusting my dress to match my unique vision. The art deco style dress was gorgeous to begin with, and the modifications made it even more spectacular, quite fitting for the beautiful location.

This Tara Keely dress was the first I found online and tracked it down to a store in Chicago. I kept going back to this dress and it was perfect for a long walk down the aisle in the beautiful Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago. We had the reception at the Chicago Yacht Club at sunset which gave us amazing photos!

Greg and I wanted to get married in the city where we met and fell in love- Sweet Home Chicago. Our venue was a secret garden in the middle of the bustling city so I knew my gown should be appropriate for an outdoor ceremony yet be glamorous for an evening ballroom reception. I knew this Alvina Valenta gown was mine he moment I tried it on. It was timeless, breathtaking, romantic, and made me feel beautiful. Who could ask for more?

Our wedding was perfect! Tom and I got married on a hot day in the summer. Our ceremony took place at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen, NJ where we both unknowingly made our First Communion together! Our reception was beautiful at The Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ. My dress was absolutely amazing and I felt beautiful in it!
Nags Head, NC, United States
Jen and Mike were married on the beach in South Nags Head, NC with the reception in Manteo, NC. Even though they reside near Pittsburgh, PA, they chose the Outer Banks after several trips there with Jen’s family; the beauty of the natural beaches provided the perfect backdrop for an amazing day! Jen knew right away that she wanted a Lazaro gown, and it couldn’t have looked more beautiful paired with the raspberry Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dresses.
Guam, United States
Matt and I met in fabulous Las Vegas. When we decided to get married, Matt’s family’s in Guam and mine in Hong Kong, so we decided to do TWO ceremonies. I looked ALL OVER and thought I might have to have 2 to match with the gorgeous but contrasting settings that Guam’s sunny beaches and HK’s sprawling city-life have to offer. Everything I tried on didn’t feel like “the one” until I noticed the Lazaro 3050. My husband’s jaw dropped seeing me in it. Our ceremonies turned out absolutely beautiful!

I loved this dress from the moment I saw it in The Knot magazine and put it in my wedding planning book as inspiration. After visiting 2 shops and trying lots of dresses, I wasn’t expecting much from my last appointment of the day. As we walked into the salon to meet our consultant, the dress was on a bustform right in front of us! My mother and godmother insisted I try it on. I knew then that my search was over. It was the only dress I tried on at Bridals by Lori and the most perfect one!

Our wedding was small & perfect! We had our closest friends and immediate family there to celebrate with us! The ceremony was full of laughs- Nathan likes to tell people we met by me falling off the treadmill and he caught me. This seemed to be the theme in our ceremony. To my surprise, the man who married us included my 11 year old son in the vows. It was very sweet and heart felt. It was wonderful! I wouldn’t change any of it!

Joe and I married on a hot summer day in our hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. The ceremony, held at St. Raphael’s church, took place in the same church my parents were married, by the same two priests that married Joe’s parents some 30 years ago.
For pictures, we decided to go to University of Pittsburgh’s main campus in Oakland. Pitt was not only where Joe attended college, but also where we first met six years ago, where our love blossomed, and where he prosposed. We couldn’t think of a better backdrop for our special day.
The celebration continued with a reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres took place in the outdoor courtyard, followed by dinner and lots of dancing in the Grand Ballroom. Our wedding day was nothing but perfect – filled with the love of all our family and friends and will be a day we will remember forever!
