I loved this dress from the moment I saw it in The Knot magazine and put it in my wedding planning book as inspiration. After visiting 2 shops and trying lots of dresses, I wasn’t expecting much from my last appointment of the day. As we walked into the salon to meet our consultant, the dress was on a bustform right in front of us! My mother and godmother insisted I try it on. I knew then that my search was over. It was the only dress I tried on at Bridals by Lori and the most perfect one!

Our wedding was small & perfect! We had our closest friends and immediate family there to celebrate with us! The ceremony was full of laughs- Nathan likes to tell people we met by me falling off the treadmill and he caught me. This seemed to be the theme in our ceremony. To my surprise, the man who married us included my 11 year old son in the vows. It was very sweet and heart felt. It was wonderful! I wouldn’t change any of it!

Joe and I married on a hot summer day in our hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. The ceremony, held at St. Raphael’s church, took place in the same church my parents were married, by the same two priests that married Joe’s parents some 30 years ago.
For pictures, we decided to go to University of Pittsburgh’s main campus in Oakland. Pitt was not only where Joe attended college, but also where we first met six years ago, where our love blossomed, and where he prosposed. We couldn’t think of a better backdrop for our special day.
The celebration continued with a reception at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres took place in the outdoor courtyard, followed by dinner and lots of dancing in the Grand Ballroom. Our wedding day was nothing but perfect – filled with the love of all our family and friends and will be a day we will remember forever!
My first time dress shopping turned out to be my last! I went with my sister to a one-day sample sale. Right away, I was drawn to one of the dresses on the rack. Even though I had looked at tons of pictures I had never seen one quite like it, and I fell in love with the circular patterns on the bodice. I also wanted to add a vintage touch to the modern design, and a vintage inspired sash made the perfect accent. My mom was shocked when I called her to tell her the search was over. She did not even know it had started! Finding the dress made planning the wedding so much easier. It cemented our vision of a modern-themed wedding with retro touches. Anytime I needed inspiration, I just thought about how my Jim Hjelm gown stole my heart that day!

I knew I wanted our wedding to be unique to us, and when we first visited Highland Springs Resort I knew it was perfect. I wanted the rustic outdoors to be intertwined with a vintage feel, and as for my dress, I wanted romantic and lace. From the first time I put on the Tara Keely dress, it was like everyone says, I knew it was the one! It was perfect and I felt beautiful. Joshua and I were married on June 8th, 2012 and it was absolutely perfect for us and our intimate group of family and friends.

John proposed to me in the White House Rose Garden last September in a moment that still seems like a dream, so to top it off, it seemed only fitting that we were married in Mother Nature’s garden. Colorado has been suffering one of it’s worst droughts in history but there was no shortage of rain the week of our wedding. The rained stopped and the clouds parted exactly 20 minutes before our ceremony. The whole day was bliss. Pure bliss.Veil – Lazaro (I believe 815)
Shortly, before the wedding, we found out I was expecting and was about 5 months along to boot. In a late night panic, I purchased an Ulla-Maija gown I’d tried on last fall that was in my “top 3″. The consensus from my girlfriends back then was that the empire waist of the Ulla-Maija gown made me look pregnant. Well, low and behold, that very statement came true and the store happened to be selling their sample months later. The thought of not being able to wear my dream gown, the Alvina Valenta, was devastating. We brought both dresses to Colorado for the wedding and decided I’d make a game time decision on which to wear. In what had to have been a miracle and some crazy contortions on the part of our lil’ bun in the oven, I was able to get into the Alvina. Phew! Wedding saved and one happy and pleasantly surprised bride/mother-to-be =)

Our sales associate at Stardust Celebrations, Liz, coordinated an incredible experience for me to meet Lazaro Perez at my initial dress fitting. Liz and my sneaky matron of honor also adorned me with a one-of-a-kind sketch of my dress, signed by Mr. Perez, which they revealed to me on the big day. My dress simply stole the show. A flawless balance of a fashion-forward edge, mixed with swoon-worthy elegance. The look on my handsome man’s face when he finally caught his first glimpse of me in my gown is my most precious memory.
Garrison, NY, United States
Jonathan and I met as total strangers 4 years ago in Boston. We wanted a small, simple yet elegant wedding with unique modern elements that fit our individual styles. It was an incredibly special day, with family providing many of the important aspects. My hometown of Garrison, NY was the most beautiful backdrop. I tried on many wedding dresses, but they all had something that I wanted to change. When I slipped the Tara Keely on, my entourage and I were in tears before I reached the mirror. I knew it was the one!

Stephen and I met and married 5 years later on his birthday, 3/24. I was living in Boston, MA and he was on tour for work. We later moved to Portland, OR in 2010 and we feel so blessed that family and friends from around the globe came to celebrate our union. Our wedding day was full of meaningful accents and DIY charm: birthday bunny cake, flower design by my sister, professional lighting and sound, homemade and home found decor, pinball and standup video games. It was SO much FUN! Most of all, our day was ALL ABOUT LOVE. As for our bridal party, we asked ladies in the bridal party to wear jewel toned dresses of their choice. The gentlemen in the bridal party were asked to wear charcoal pants and a baby blue button up. We gifted them a pair of teal suspenders to wear. A friend of ours made up a design based on the lace pattern of my dress and silkscreened this pattern onto tote bags for the ladies and ties for all the guys. Our boutonnieres were felt snowflakes with beaded accents, since we love the snow.

Mike and I got married at the Crosby Club, nestled in the hills of Rancho Santa Fe. I wanted the wedding to have a romantic, French garden feel, in all black and ivory. The florals were a mix of peonies, garden roses, hydrangea and tulips, all in ivory and white, with candles everywhere. It was a day neither of us will ever forget.

Growing up, I was not the girl who daydreamed about my perfect wedding but when the love of my life asked me to marry him after 7 years of dating, the ideas and the creativity started flowing! The key for me was creating a day that would be true to us as a couple. The vision for that day began to unfold after finding the PERFECT dress. My style and personality fits so well with Jim Hjelm’s designs, and JH8011 was the perfect centerpiece for the perfect wedding. It was a day I will never forget.
Columbus, OH, United States
With it being my hometown and where Kevin and I started our story, we wouldn’t have held our vintage wedding anywhere else but Columbus. Our rainy, but-filled-with-good-luck wedding day started at my family’s church and ended with our reception in a historic bank built in the 1920′s. Our day, to us at least, was perfect. Our stained-glass-filled church, our antique reception venue, my timeless all-lace wedding dress and the abundance of love exuded that day from us and from our guests were all essential in creating our perfect memories.

Mike and I were married on May 25, 2012 after nearly 7 years of dating. We picked that date because it was the start of our favorite weekend every year – Memorial Day weekend. We got married at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Cedar Grove, NJ and had our reception at the beautiful Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ. Our wedding day was even more perfect than we could have ever imagined.

Our wedding inspiration all started the night Taylor proposed to me. He took me to a quaint, local bed and breakfast and standing right in front of this arbor in the back yard he dropped to one knee and 9 months later we stood in that exact spot to become man and wife. I knew finding the perfect dress was going to be a lot of work but an amazing adventure. I saw the most fabulous Lazaro gown online and right then i called my mom and told her I had found “the dress”.
Cabo San Lucas, MX, Mexico
We had our dream wedding in Cabo last April. A destination wedding was perfect because we were able to spend a whole weekend with the people we love most. I always thought I’ll be trying 100s of wedding gowns for my wedding but to my surprise I tried 5 and the moment I put on my Alvina Valenta I didn’t want to look anymore. I was immediately in love with the different textures, the simplicity and the elegance of this dress. It’s fresh and romantic but at the sametime dramatic. Wish I can wear it again.

Tim and I knew we wanted a small and intimate wedding focused on that which was most important to us: family, friends and food! We knew Italy would be the perfect place to exchange our vows, surrounded by the rolling Tuscan hills, and a bounty of magnificent food and wine. We were married within the magical walled medieval town of San Gimignano in the heart of Tuscany, followed by a garden reception on the grounds of a 17th century Villa. I knew that my Jim Hjelm dress was the perfect one for me the instant I saw it. The vintage feel of my gown fit in perfectly with the historic surroundings. iIt was also incredibly comfortable which made it perfect for dancing!

Eric and I wanted a unique wedding that our guests would enjoy and feel welcomed and special. Our venue was a historic tobacco mill in the heart of the New York Botanical Garden. There was no other dress in creation that could match our unique venue other than my fairy tale Lazaro gown. It was one of the highlights of the wedding!

My husband and I were married at Cabo Azul Resort in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico on January 28th, 2012. We honestly had the best week of our lives there! 50 of our closest family and friends came down from all over the United States to celebrate with us. I absolutely LOVED my dress, especailly on the day of the wedding when everything else was done. At the end of the night, I didn’t want to take it off… It was definitely the perfect dress for me!

Justin and I both have a love for vintage things. First task was to find my dress. Actually my mom did. It was perfect for what I was going for a beaded sheath dress by Lazaro it was simple yet had a 30′s vintage feel to it. I realized I made the right choice once people at the wedding started asking me if I had used my grandma’s dress for the event.

We wanted a Victorian wedding with romantic details, like silver platters, lace, soft colors, crystal jewels and black suits. We love the late 1800′s time period. We kept this in mind when creating the look of our wedding with every detail, from decor to clothing. We incorporated old world techniques like hand-painted sign-in scrolls and seating charts done with feather pens and calligraphy. We wanted people to be swept away into another time when they walked into our wedding and the feeling to be ornate but not stuffy; just cozy and romantic, and encourage everyone to have a good time!
Tarrytown, NY, United States
Brian and I met through a friend and got engaged 8 months afterward. After a 1 year engagement the day finally came and even though I wasn’t controlling every detail, everything went smoothly. It was a small southern themed wedding with everything from brisket to corn bread. The food and close family atmosphere made all 42 guests feel at home. And I felt so special in my elegant and manageable gown.

Brendan and I were friends for many years, first meeting when we were kids at a company picnic. We stayed friends and sometime after college a friend’s birthday party brought us together in Lake Tahoe. We discovered our appreciation of wine and decided Sonoma would be a beautiful place to get married. Our wedding was filled with friends, family, love, and laughter. Francesca Pitera designed a perfect dress for a perfect day!

Chicago, IL, United States
As avid Chicago sports fans living in Florida, my husband and I had a wild vision for our special day: that we would celebrate with family & friends back in our hometown of Chicago, incorporating the things we love the most (going to games & rooting for our favorite teams!).
With the historic Chicago venues of Soldier Field and Wrigley Field, gorgeous details including my dress, flowers, and handmade crafts, a wonderful photographer, and the help of many friends & family, our dream became a reality- which we were able to share with those we love.
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, United States
Our wedding was on St. Patrick’s Day and was everything we hoped for and more. We wanted a garden inspired, vintage style wedding and everything including my dress made that dream come true.
This was the first dress I ripped out of a magazine and once I tried it on I knew it was the one!! It was so comfortable (seriously) and so many of my friends asked me if they could borrow it for their weddings! I added a crystal belt that my twin sister wore at her wedding rather than the platinum sash it came with.
