Van and Noelle

Warrenton, VA, United States
We dated in high school but growing pains began sneaking in, and we broke up after 7 years. My heart was truly meant for Van though and realized you don’t realize how much something means to you until you set it free. We reunited and Van proposed and we were officially engaged 2 days before Christmas. Our venue, Airlie, was stunningly beautiful! I fell in love with my Jim Hjelm dress the moment I put it on and knew that was the only designer I wanted to try on. I and it truly was my dream dress!

Julie and Tony were married at the historic Bodley-Bullock House in downtown Lexington. The whole day shown with sophisticated southern details that enhanced the bride and grooms infectious attitude for fun and togetherness. Julie wanted to plan a wedding that felt, “sophisticated and classic, but not pretentious or overdone”.

07/03/2011
New York, NY, United States
Ed and Julie had one goal while planning their wedding, and that was to make it FUN! The wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place in Central Park, but days before the wedding they were forced to change the ceremony location due to weather conditions. Fortunately their alternative location (The Divine Studio) provided a stunning, light filled back drop for their wedding photo’s. For the reception they chose their favorite spot in Brooklyn, The Gutter. Ed and Julie’s guests danced to a New Orleans Jazz band, while feasting on BBQ and bowling all night.

Darren and I went to the same high school and let’s just say I was dying to know everything about him. We had mutual friends and so we began to hang out often. Years went on, I moved on from my high school crush, we stayed friends…best friends. Skip ahead to November 2008. We slowly began to date, but both didn’t say a word because we didn’t want to jinx it… 1 month later (Okay so maybe more like 3 days!), I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him!

We wanted our wedding to reflect us in as many ways as possible. We used handmade, vintage, and well-loved elements in as many aspects as possible. The dress worked perfectly for a simple and elegant feel. It also matched the handmade veil beautifully. Above all, we wanted to have a good time surrounded by our loved ones: dancing the night away was the best way we knew how!

William and I had a year and half engagement which gave me more than enough time to plan my perfect wedding. I scoured magazines and blogs for inspiration. After doing much research I learned: I love glamour and glitz, I love draping, I love the colors black, gray, blush and ivory, I love big flower arrangements and I love ruffles and bows. Fashion is a passion of mine so searching for bridesmaid’s dresses with my mom and maid of honor was a blast. After months of trying on many dresses we discovered the stunning graphite Jim Hjelm dress. Perfection.

Our goal was to throw an amazing, “funky garden party.” Throughout the planning, everything seemed to fall into place. My Jim Hjelm dress was everything I could have ever dreamed. The Conservatory was the perfect décor to carry out our theme. We chose to have a day event, which allowed the room to really shine, and thanks to the florist, it was bursting with color! The reception lasted until 5 p.m. at which point, we had transportation from the hotel into the town center, where we extended the party to a fun bar!

Getting married outside in Tennessee’s amazing autumn weather was obviously an easy choice! Other than an outdoor wedding, lace dress, and cowboy boots, we were up for just about anything. After choosing my ivory Jim Hjelm dress, Corral boots, and handmade jewelry, I was set. The handsome groom debuted in a brown pinstriped suit, cognac striped tie, and Ariat boots. The weather was perfect, my make-up was still shine free by aisle time, and the groom was amazing….what more could you ask for?!

Frank and I were married on a summer evening at the Jonathan Edwards winery in Stonington , CT. Everything looked so beautiful that day, such as the winery, the weather, my gorgeous flowers, the tent, and best of all my handsome husband ! I just floated around the whole evening absolutlely glowing wearing the gown of my dreams holding the hand of the man of my dreams! If I could relive that night, the only thing I would do differently is remember to eat something !

South Haven, MI, United States
We were married in South Haven, Mich. in the garden of a family member’s home, off of the lake. The setting was ideal – a warm sunny day, a yard full of beautiful flowers, and a sparkler “toast” to end the night. To complement our rustic garden theme, I wanted an ethereal gown and fell in love with the combination of lace and tulle of this style. It was clear this was the perfect choice for me the moment I tried it on. Our favorite wedding day moment was our “first look” which brought tears to both of our eyes!

Rich and Abby

05/28/2011
Philadelphia, PA, United States

My husband, Rich, and I got married on May 28, 2011 in Philadelphia. Luckily, we had a gorgeous day because my parents had worked for months to make their backyard look like paradise and they succeeded! It was the perfect setting to take pictures with my bridal party before leaving for the church. It just so happened that BOTH dresses were Jim Hjelm! It was obvious I was naturally drawn to the style. My wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses complimented each other perfectly.

I can honestly say that my wedding gown found me… my wedding gown was the first and only dress I tried on. The minute I had it on I just knew “this was the dress for me”. The luxurious fabric and delicate embroidery was so unique, yet had a traditional look with a modern edge to it. I can only describe it as “romantic” and that became the theme for my wedding.

Ben and Monica

08/27/2010
Walker, MN, United States
My mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly after Ben and I were engaged. Although we had not made any wedding plans yet, I knew I wanted my mother with me when I found the dress of my dreams. We went to Raffine in Stillwater, MN and my mom selected several gowns, but all along I knew which one I wanted – I saved it for last. When I came out in the bridal gown (Jim Hjelm 8011) my dad started to tear up-that was all it took for us to know that it was the one. I absolutely love it and could have tried on 100 more and not found something so perfect!
