When it came to envisioning my wedding, I knew I wanted three things: pink, sparkles and a Hayley Paige gown. Yes, the food needed to be delicious and the DJ needed to keep the dance floor rocking all night, but I could outsource these items. My main objective was to create an unbelievably gorgeous, fun wedding within my budget. As soon as I saw the W Austin, I fell in love. It fit my fiance's style as well as my own. It was hip, modern and edgy yet I knew we could glam it up with beautiful floral arrangements and linens.
I chose blush pink and champagne for my colors. The W Austin provided sleek ivory table linens for the ballroom which we jazzed up with champagne sequin table runners from Monarch Rentals and beautiful blush and ivory floral arrangements by Bouquets of Austin. The tall cocktail tables were draped with full length champagne sequin table linens and placed around the dance floor post cocktail hour. My cake table was absolutely breath taking. The cake itself was 5-tiers with blush pink flowers cascading the entire cake. The cake table linen was a blush pink petal linen from Monarch Rentals.
I had several different floral arrangements paired with a mix match of mercury glass vases and candle holders on all of the guests tables. The head table was my favorite. It was 36 feet long and had five huge Baby's Breath tall arrangements going down the center with glass cylinders filled with water and floating candles on top of silver mercury glass pillar candle sticks. In between the cylinders and large arrangements were small arrangements in blush and ivory. Aside from the head table, my second favorite table arrangement was a mercury hurricane shaped candle holder with a floral wreath around it and a candle inside. You can see pictures of everything below. My bouquet was jaw-dropping, all white with roses and orchids that matched the groomsmen's orchid boutonnieres. Bouquets of Austin did an amazing job! The flowers overall were breathtaking.
Aside from beautiful flowers, our guests raved about the food. When we first looked at the menu for the W Austin, the food looked delicious, but we wanted something more Southern. We asked if they had any suggestions and being that their chef is from New Orleans, Southern-style cuisine would not be a problem. We served Southern crispy fried chicken with buttermilk mashed potatoes and honey butter biscuits. It was UNBELIEVABLE! Even the hors d'oeuvres were phenomenal. We had tuna tartar, mini beef wellingtons and shrimp and grits. The W Austin did a fantastic job.
I have a couple of favorite moments from the day. The first was our "first look". The look on his face when he turned around will never leave my memory. If I could create my own happiness emoji, it would be that look. My second favorite moment was being introduced into our reception. Something about seeing an entire ballroom packed with all of our favorite people still brings tears of joy to my eyes. Words cannot describe the happiness I felt on that day. It was truly the best day.
