KATIE & BRENDON – INTIMATE WEDDING AT THE FOUR SEASONS RESORT BORA BORA
Ia Orana lovers, we love getting to know our couples so we’ve asked some questions to Katie about her wedding at the FOUR SEASONS RESORT BORA BORA and here you have her answers.

How did the bride and groom meet?

Brandon and I worked together in healthcare at UK hospital in Kentucky. We bonded as friends over music. Brandon joined me for Bonnaroo music festival in June 2017. He hugged me one night and it felt as if our souls touched. I knew he was my person. The two of us have attended countless concerts since our first Bonnaroo together. We ultimately decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee; the Music City. We bought a house and a frenchie together!

How did the groom propose?

Brandon and l planned a trip to Cancun, Mexico last December. He had organized a beachside, private dinner for us prior to our arrival. This type of romantic gesture is common for Brandon so I suspected nothing. He actually arranged a photographer to take some photos of us and I thought it was an extra thoughtful gesture because I’d wanted some photos for a Christmas card. While the photographer checked her lighting, she asked me to face the ocean. Brandon said my name moments later and when I turned back around, he was on one knee. I remember the moment as if it were yesterday. There was no question for me, I was ecstatic to marry him.

What was the inspiration behind planning your wedding in Bora Bora?

I was never the girl who dreamt of a big wedding with all my friends and family. I wanted to elope somewhere beautiful. It was always my dream to see Bora Bora. Together we saved and researched. We made our dream a reality. Bora Bora is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. The landscape created the perfect intimate, magical wedding.

Was there a special part of the wedding day that stood apart from the rest?

Hearing the ukulele artist cover “Here Comes The Sun” by the Beatles while we walked into the tiny, Mountain View chapel, was so moving; all the feels. Then our jump off the plunge pool into the turquoise waters of Bora Bora, holding hands, felt so symbolic for the plunge we took into life as one. I’ll never forget either moment.

Who designed the wedding gown?

The dress is Blush by Hayley Paige.

Who designed the wedding shoes?

I went barefoot! I had bubble bath OPI polish on my toes and a silver, delicate anklet that was gifted to me by a close friend. I did slip on some Frye slides for the rocky terrain!

What about the doughnuts?

Because we don’t like cake (and we love doughnuts), the Four Seasons prepared an amazing tray with a selection of different flavored sweet pastries, a floral bath and champagne.
