Glen and Kirsten
Glen and I first met when we played on the same kickball team--well, he played and I "played." I kept telling him "no" every time he asked me out on a date, and in the midst of his persistence, we built an amazing friendship. Six months later, I finally got smart and said yes to a first date and soon realized that I had found the man of my dreams. And when he asked me to marry him, I said YES on his first try :)
Long before I met the groom, I knew who my dress designer would be. I first fell for Hayley Paige gowns when I saw them on Say Yes to the Dress, and wrote her name down to remember whenever I was lucky enough to shop for my wedding dress. Fast forward a few years to being in the midst of wedding planning, and I hadn't quite started shopping yet. I saw a bride in one of my vendor's Instagram photos wearing the most beautiful dress--in the picture most of the dress was concealed by a large cascading bouquet, but somehow it was love at first sight. Once I found out the dress was a Hayley Paige, I knew it would be mine before I even tried it on.
We were married at the Yacht Club at Marina Shores in Virginia Beach on a chilly November evening with a color palette of plum & magenta. Glen and I opted to do a first look (which I can't recommend enough!), and our photographers chose a location that looked ordinary in real life, but was absolutely magical in photos. My bridesmaids each chose a dress style from the Hayley Paige Occasions line, and each of them looked so gorgeous. One of my favorite details from the day was my bouquet--it was wrapped in the lace from my mom's wedding dress, and a rosary from each of my great grandmothers.
Our wedding day was everything we had dreamed of and more. Our main goal for the entire evening was for everyone to eat, drink & be merry...and also keep the dance floor packed. It was truly the best day of both of our lives, to be surrounded and celebrated by so many people that we love.
