Lauren and Jay
Jay and I got engaged on Christmas 2017 and planned our wedding for May 2018 - a 5 month engagement! We immediately got to work on wedding planning which proved to be quite the task, especially without a wedding planner, my 80 hour work weeks, and his military deployment for the 4 weeks leading up to our wedding! Our date was not flexible based on our schedules so finding a venue was a challenge. We really wanted to showcase Utah’s natural beauty for our guests, most of whom would be coming from out of state. We were able to find a beautiful venue but it was indoors and in an area with little natural beauty but it would suffice. We then met with our wedding photographer the day we were supposed to sign the venue contract and she mentioned Louland Falls. We called and they had our date available and met many other specifics we wanted along with an amazing outdoor location in the mountains. Next came the wedding dress which I started shopping for 2 months prior to the wedding - yikes. I went to a sample sale at Bitsy Bridal and ended up buying the first dress I tried on, the beautiful Hayley Paige Ginger gown. Thankfully it fit well and only needed to be hemmed. The rest of the details came together over time and as the wedding approached the forecast called for rain all day. We didn’t have a plan B for rain so we prayed and prayed hoping the weather would allow for our guests to hear about the way God has weaved our lives together so intricately and specially. Thankfully, the weather was perfect and our wedding was too.
