Ainslee and Landon

12/09/2017
New Braunfels, TX, United States

Landon and I met while in school at Texas A&M University. He is originally from Arlington, Texas and I am from a small town down near the Mexico border called Uvalde. Because of that our wedding location needed to be more central and I chose the Milestone venue in New Braunfels hill country. My husband moved down to Uvalde to start farming with my dad, so our wedding decorations gave a little southern feel with cotton, corn, and wheat straight from the farm. I am a teacher and absolutely love kids so my wedding was fun and full of kiddos. We chose gray, burgundy, and a barely blush pink as an accent color and used minimal flowers but the ones we did have really popped.

When choosing my dress I walked into the store requesting only Hayley Paige because my sister and I have always loved her dresses. I loved everyone that I saw but I was a bit skeptical about sleeves after trying one on before my Collins gown. Once I put on the Collins gown I knew it was the one. Right when I looked in the mirror the first word that left my mouth was "wow."

The week of our wedding there was a huge surprise ice and snow storm (that never happens in south Texas). We were so worried people wouldn't be able to travel for our wedding. However, Saturday morning rolled around sunny and beautiful with bits of snow melting off of rooftops. Every piece of the wedding was a winter dream come true, with hot chocolate, peppermint popcorn, and mini pies along with a good friends' BBQ.

The bridesmaids wore gray dresses, and the boys added a southern flare with dark matching jeans, and brown boots.
