Lauren and Namit
My husband and I met through a friend, by chance, when my mom was in town visiting me. For months afterwards she asked me about that "lawyer" that I met but I didn't tell her that we had started dating because I was afraid I would jinx it!
My husband is Indian, specifically Punjabi, and I was raised Catholic so it was very important to us to blend both cultures and faiths for our wedding. Indian culture can be very strong and weddings are typically elaborate affairs. I wanted to honor that tradition but also ensure that my family also felt the events were representative of our culture and faith as well. In order to accomplished this, we decided on a destination wedding in LA, since it's our favorite place to visit and we were able to host all of our events outdoors. We really were able to take advantage of the natural views and sunshine. We hosted a Mendhi/Sangeet on Friday night and on Saturday we held a Baraat, Christian Ceremony, Hindu Ceremony and Reception. It could not have been more perfect!
