Brittany and Tim

Tim and I grew up near each other in Baltimore and went to the same college, but we didn’t really start hanging out until a year after we graduated and we both lived in separate cities. In 2011, Tim drove up from Baltimore to New York City to visit friends and we ended up sharing some late-night food in the rain under a bus stop in Hoboken. That led to a first date at the Times Square Toys R Us and M&M’s World. We had a long-distance relationship for about three years before we moved in together across the country when my job took me to San Francisco, and then after that we moved to Chicago for a few years for graduate school.

When I returned from a summer in San Francisco for an MBA internship, Tim took me on a trip to the Riviera Maya, Mexico to celebrate being back together. One night as we were walking to a restaurant, we passed a private dinner set up on the beach. This turned out to be a surprise from Tim, and he proposed there.

We decided to get married in our hometown of Baltimore, and immediately fell in love with the George Peabody Library as our location. We tried to embrace the library atmosphere, using booklets and bookmarks as ceremony bulletins, chapter books as table numbers, and library cards as dinner menus. We also mentioned to our band a year prior that we loved 90s hits, and unbeknownst to us they ended up learning three of our favorite 90s songs and surprised us throughout the night. It was a pretty amazing night. We now live in Baltimore with our puppy.
