Annie and Timmy
The road to our wedding day began in Morgantown, WV at The Vow Boutique. The perfect dress was going to set the tone for our perfect wedding. I tried on several Hayley Paige gowns, as she is my favorite wedding gown designer. Little did I know, that I would find THE ONE, in her beautiful design named the Andi. I fell in love with this gown, as it exuded pure simplicity, class, and elegance. These are the things we wanted our guests to see as well as feel on our special day.
Our wedding weekend was spent with our closest friends and family at High Acre Farm in Piqua, Ohio. This picturesque and charming venue has something to offer everyone. It is a menagerie of wooded landscape, lakes, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, gymnasium, and a gazebo to throw the perfect BBQ. Both my husband and I have children so we wanted to ensure we chose something that they too would enjoy to the fullest. In addition, there is a Polo Barn that sleeps 36 people. This was the perfect backdrop for a wedding and reception. Our closest friends and family were able to stay on the property which made for the ultimate weekend of celebration.
We kicked off the festivities on Thursday, July 4th. On Friday the 5th, we hosted the rehearsal and an “I Do” Barbecue at the gazebo to welcome our guests. On Saturday July 6th, we had the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. Our outdoor ceremony was breathtaking, the aisle being adorned with candles and flowers. The reception consisted of a wonderful dinner and the wedding cake of our dreams. We toasted to our love as well as our guests who made the immense effort to come and celebrate our union. We danced the night away to the amazing Kudmani Band, who played all of our favorite tunes under the stars. The night ended with a spectacular fireworks display over the lake, with Timmy and I exiting the reception through a tunnel of sparklers held by our beloved guests.
Our story leading to this magical day is everything but traditional, which makes it all more unique and special. I have been a single mother for 15 years. During that time it was just the two of us, Landon and myself. Landon, being the avid athlete that he is, played sports with Timmy’s youngest son, Dane. Timmy and I crossed paths for years, never thinking twice about the possibility of being a couple. However, one day Timmy decided to take a chance and ask me on a date. The rest, as they say, is history. Our wedding day six years later was the ultimate symbol of our love and families joining together to become one. Timmy’s three children Nate, Sammy, and Dane accepted Landon and me wholeheartedly and vice versa. As fulfilling as becoming Timmy’s wife was, the joining of our families was what made it truly so special. We made a commitment not only to each other, but to our children. I will always remember our wedding day and all of the things that led us to it. Little did I know… that special Hayley Paige Andi gown…that made me feel so beautiful and elegant, was truly only the beginning of what was in store for our new life together as a family. Xoxo Annie
